Our Story
We are an inclusive youth-led dance and arts collective for young people from all walks of life, redefining dance as a tool for expression, empowerment, and social change. We break the rules of perfection, create space for every kind of body and story, and inspire fearless—not flawless—movement.

To inspire young people to dream of a better future and give them the confidence to shape it.
Our Mission
Support young people within dance and arts to be happier and healthier, pursue their passions and, most importantly, express themselves.
Our Vision
Giving every young person, regardless of background, the opportunity to be free and totally themselves.
We kicked things off as WigLe Dance CIC, founded by Amy Hodgson to break down barriers in dance. The mission? Keep it real, affordable and all about young people. From school halls to community spaces, the response was massive—hundreds of young people showed up, ready to move.

Within a few years, WigLe became the go-to for dance in the borough. Backed by Wigan Council and major funders, we grew fast, launching the Wigan Borough Dance Festival, creating the Wigan Dance Network, and linking up with 75+ schools a year.
As we grew, hundreds of young people joined us every week, from little ones to future pros. With real progression paths and standout performances, we’re all about growing talent. We lead with youth voice, award-winning vibes, and national recognition for shaking up the dance scene.
2025
In 2025, WigLe Dance became Spirix—named after the mythical bird symbolising freedom, fearlessness and forward motion. Still rooted in our original values, Spirix expands the vision: performing arts as a tool for change, led by young people.
