FAQs
For Parents & Carers
Can I sign my child up to a Spirix class?
Yes! Spirix runs afterschool and community dance clubs for children of all abilities. Most of our sessions take place at our studio in Leigh town centre, but we also deliver in schools and community venues across Wigan Borough. Check with your school or contact us directly to find out what’s available near you.
What kind of classes do you offer?
Our sessions are fun, inclusive and creative. Children learn different dance styles, express themselves through movement and build confidence, teamwork and resilience. Spirix sessions are about wellbeing, connection and creativity – not just technique or performance.
Do we need to buy a uniform or special kit?
No specialist kit is needed to get started. Children just need to wear comfortable clothing they can move in (like leggings or joggers) and bring a bottle of water. When your child joins Spirix, we’ll provide them with a free Spirix T-shirt to wear in class. We also have Spirix merchandise available to buy, such as hoodies and water bottles.
To help keep dance affordable, our studio in Leigh also has a ‘New-to-You’ dancewear shop, where families can buy good quality second-hand dancewear at low cost. If anything extra is needed for performances or projects, we’ll give you plenty of notice and always keep it accessible.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Spirix is for all children, including those who’ve never danced before. Our artists create a supportive space where everyone is encouraged to take part at their own pace.
What if my child has additional needs?
Spirix is an inclusive and welcoming space for all children. If your child has specific needs or access requirements, let us know – we’ll work closely with you to make sure they feel supported and safe.
How do I book a place?
If it’s a school-run club, your child’s school may use their own booking system. For community sessions, you can book directly with us.

If you’re not sure, just drop us a message and we’ll point you in the right direction.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary depending on the session and location. We aim to keep everything affordable and accessible. Some of our clubs are free or subsidised, thanks to local partnerships and funding.
Can I stay and watch a session?
Some community sessions include parent sharings or open sessions. School clubs are usually drop-off only, but we often share updates and photos (with permission) so you can see what your child has been doing.
